I hope you all don't mind reading my daily goals & recaps. I'm trying hard to become more organized and this is helping me, alot! I do have many other things on my daily to-do lists, but I'm posting the biggies.
Today was an overall good day. Nathan & I played and he napped really well.
The morning started with some snow flurries. We were told that there would be an inch on the ground... HA! Nathan & I braved the elements to get some free fabric from Freecycle. (If you haven't already, join Freecycle. We have given away plenty of stuff, and received a TON of stuff.) We decided to head out early before much snow could hit the ground. It stopped snowing within minutes of leaving the house. Crazy weatherman, get it right! haha
We got home, Nathan went down for a nap & I sorted fabric. I'm not even sure what to do with it all. It was two 13 gallon bags FULL of fabric. There's yards of cream colored linen, that will become clothes of some sort ~ I'm thinking cute summer rompers or such. Then a couple yards of satiny fabric in a wine color. Then other random stuff.
For dinner we met Daddy at the local Chinese restaraunt. Afterwards he went on to Youth and Nathan & I went next door to Goodwill. Seriously people, I'm addicted to Goodwill. Did you know that they get fabric, all the time?! I had no idea! I got a wool sweater, 5 books for the boy, 5 or 6 pillowcases ~ to become dresses, 2 or 3 yards of fabric and something I'm forgetting for $13.00.
Without too many details, I think I may be getting what Mike had yesterday. I'm a little relieved that is feeling better already. Seemed to only be 24 hours.
Goal for today?
1. Keep my boy happy. ~ Done!
2. Finish laundry ~ eh, mostly
3. Stay warm ~ Done!
4. Stay healthy! ~ too soon to tell.
Goals for tomorrow...
1. Stay healthy
2. Keep house clean
3. Clean bathrooms, yuck!
4. play with Nate Zane & O.

Teething and Sickness
Yesterday was rough, I won't lie to you.
Due to the teething, Nathan slept all day Monday. So, by yesterday it was the last thing he wanted to do. It didn't help that O was here yesterday. Who wants to sleep when a friend is over??
We started the day out with 2 icky diapers, one for each boy. I called O's mama to let her know what was going on. You never know what a mama wants to do in that situation. Since I was okay with it, she opted to leave him here. Knowing that Nathan's ickiness was related to teething, I wondered about O. He didn't seem his usual self, but didn't have a fever and said he felt fine. Then Mike called me... "What can I take for an upset stomach?" AH HA! There must be something going around!
Fortunately there were no more icky diapers, but both boys were a bit cranky. I was dealing with waves of nausea myself. I put on a movie for O, and got toys out for Nathan. I kept myself busy with Laundry & attempting to clean my room.
O ate his lunch really well & went down for his nap. Usually mama is here right at 3:30, so I got him up at 3:15 by saying "O, time to get up, Mama will be here soon." Bad idea! Mama didn't get here until after 4:15. Ever deal with a 3 year old whose mama is late? Not fun. It wasn't that bad, just not fun.
Mike having the strong work ethic he does, worked the day through. He called me around 4:30 to say that he was on his way home. He made it pretty clear that he would be spending the evening in bed. I didn't blame him one little bit. I just prepared myself for dealing with a tired, teething, not feeling well baby on my own.
I did my best to distract the boy from his pain. For the most part it worked. We had moments where he was actually happy, dancing and laughing. (I love this boy!) As the evening went on though, his mood declined. I tried putting him in bed, and the screaming started. This was screaming that could wake the dead. He was hitting pitches that hit me to my very core. I would try holding him to comfort him, but he did not want me. Bedtime is Daddy time & he knows it.
After nearly an hour of this, Daddy was feeling a little better, so he came and took Nathan. Within minutes he was asleep. Which let me say, I love that they have this connection, but sometimes... it's just frustrating. Why won't he go to sleep like that for me??
I am praying for a better day today. We're making a quick trip to a neighboring town to get some free fabric. Hopefully it will be a good distraction for both of us. The weather is a bit dicy though, so we'll be praying the whole way there & back.
Goals from Yesterday:
1. Keep both boys in clean diapers. ~ DONE!
2. Keep both boys hydrated with pedialyte ~ DONE!
3. Put away the mounting laundry piles. ~ Mostly done, Nathan's laundry needs to put away.
4. Clean my bedroom. ~ HA! yeah right...
Looking back at my goals, not too bad. I put away 4 loads of laundry and kept the boys clean and hydrated.

Tuesday, today
Today is Tuesday, so that means that O is here to play with us. Unfortunately, Nathan is not feeling well, so he is sleeping through the fun. He slept away the day yesterday as well. This molar is taking it's toll on him.
Also for today, is a stomach bug. I started out with two icky diapers, one for each boy. Mike is not feeling well and called to ask what to do for upset tummy. I thought I was in the clear, but am feeling the beginnings of nausea. Bleck!
I am trying to keep myself busy & not dwell on it.
So, here's my goals for today:
1. Keep both boys in clean diapers.
2. Keep both boys hydrated with pedialyte
3. Put away the mounting laundry piles.
4. Clean my bedroom. ~ I've done well at maintaining the main living area, so now I need to add the bedroom to my routine.
If I can accomplish even half of my goals today, I will be a happy girl.

Goals vs. Resolutions
It's that time of year when we hear people talking about New Year's Resolutions. In years past, I have attempted to make these stupid things. Like so many other people, I fail miserably almost as soon as I speak them. Why? They tend to be very vague and big picture.
Resolutions I have heard already:
1. Lose weight
2. spend more time with my family
3. change the world
4. get out of debt
5. run in a marathon
Seriously? How are you going to even go about doing these things? There is no game plan with these, this is usually as far as they go. Then they sit looming over you for the rest of the year and you feel like a big fat failure!
Instead Goals look more like this: (these are mine, actually)
1. Lose 40 pounds in the next 6 months
*How?
a. eat breakfast every morning
b. walk around the block every afternoon
c. cook a healthier dinner 3 times a week
d. weigh in every Friday Morning, need to lose at least 2 pounds a week.
2. Have a more organized home.
*How?
a. clean desk daily
b. put away laundry as soon as it comes out of dryer
c. spend 15 minutes a day doing quick de-clutter
3. Have a closer relationship with God.
*How?
a. Stop going to computer first in morning, instead read Bible
b. read one Christian non-fiction book a month
4. Build my sewing business ~ 20 items listed on etsy by April
*How?
a. have a better sewing area (DONE!)
b. spend 3 hours per week sewing to sell
c. find information about local craft fairs
When you make goals, the idea is to write down how to do them. Set a time line for each step to the goal. Put it on your calendar, fridge or where ever you will see it.
Revisit and update your goals every couple of months. What seems realistic in January may not be come April. Things in life can change.
Tell People about your goals (like on a blog! ha), accountability is a wonderful motivator.
