I think I have put some of this out there before, but I'm going to do it again just in case.
As nearly everyone knows, adoption is expensive. We paid nearly $17,000.00 once everything is said & done for this adoption. Fortunately, there is a tax credit of somewhere around $11,000. However, it will take us close to 3 years to see that money in full. In the meantime, we have a loan of approximately $12,000. While we were in the process of our adoption, we tried different fundraisers & applied for grants. Nothing really came of those efforts.
Recently, when a friend needed to raise money quickly for an unexpected adoption, it happened in a matter of days. This caused me to talk to God. Now, don't take this the wrong way, I am beyond excited that they raised their money so fast!! It just made me look at our situation. While talking to God, I felt him impress on me, that He could have done the same for us, if I'd had the faith. WOW! Talk about a punch in the gut spiritually!!
Mike & I know that we want to continue to add to our family. At least once more, maybe 2 or 3 more times. However, we do not want to begin with this weight on our backs. I have been tossing around creative ideas for fundraisers, and you will see about them soon. (Think sewing.)
In the meantime, we are having total faith that God will provide. Not only to pay off our current loan, but to raise the money for adoption #2. We are looking at raising $24,000 by summer. It seems huge, but to God, it's nothing. Our God is an AWESOME GOD. There is a song that we sang at our church in California called My God is More than Enough!! I get goosebumps just thinking about the song.
My God is more than enough
He can supply all my needs
He is my El Shaddai
He always looks out for me
Jehovah Jirah he is my God
all of the earth is His and the fullness there of
He's everything that I need
you can be sure of
Jehovah Jirah he is my God
So why should I worry bout the highs and the lows
the ups and the downs
and by my faith I know
my God is more than enough
He can supply all my needs
He is my El Shaddai
He always looks out for Me
Jehovah Jirah he is my God
I will be putting a paypal donation button on my blog. Only use it if you really want to, I am not begging for money. What we want most is your prayers and support. Feel free to tell anyone you know about this, blog it, email, whatever.
I will be using this blog and possibly etsy to sell things for the fundraiser. If you have something you would like to donate to the cause, please let me know!! We're also looking at having a huge yard sale in the spring. So, if you have something for that, let me know.
I can't wait to give God complete and total glory for what He is about to do. I can't wait to look into my new baby's eyes & see a miracle!!
If you want to contact me about this, you can email me at mamasmess@gmail.com
