Lots to update on...

I have gotten behind on my blogging... ((sigh)) some weeks it just seems difficult to make blogging a priority.

Nathan is working on two teeth at once!! One of them has poked through & is out just enough to hurt when kisses me. Oh, you know the kiss... the kind all babies give, open mouth & less than gentle. ;) We had a few nights of him waking up every few hours. It was hard to believe that waking up that much was the norm a handful of months ago. It seemed to kick all of our rears! Once the teeth are visible enough, I promise some pictures.

I have been baking & experimenting with bread. mmmm... my house smells like freshly baked bread again.

I had to get a phone cell phone... post to follow about that!

hmm.... what else? I'm building the confidence to start on Nathan's Halloween costume. I do so much better without pattern pieces...

Mike has been working alot of overtime lately. Good for the fact that we have car maintenance coming up, bad for baby & family time. Nathan has been going to bed around 7 or 7:30. So, there have been more than a few nights that he doesn't get to see Daddy before bed. Those nights have been rough. Daddy does the bed-time routine, so when he's not here, Nathan fights bed.

Fall is here in Tennessee! I love it right now. As I speak, the windows are all open & cool breeze is passing through the house. We are going to take Nathan to a pumpkin patch this weekend. I can hardly wait!!

Gas seems to be going back to normal around here. Still WAY above the prices pre-Ike-scare, ugh.

I guess I will quit rambling and start some specific posts.... =)

Randomness

Well, Nathan & I are mostly over our colds. I seem to only need to wipe his nose once a day. He still sounds a little stuffed up, but we are moving right along.

He had his 9 month check up yesterday. This boy is growing!! He is now 29 1/2 inches long & 21 pounds. He is so good about his check ups. When the doctor looks in his ears, he tilts his head & squints. It cracks me up!! He is always so calm for her, best behavior.

I am going to be calling the doctor here pretty soon though. He has a dark spot on his gums. I have been told that it could either be a bruise or a tooth coming in. I didn't notice it until late yesterday afternoon, of course long after our appointment. (sigh) It doesn't seem to hurt him when I touch it, but I want to get it checked out all the same. I have heard of a white spot when the tooth bud surfaces, but never a bruise.

We are praying about our next adoption. I have fallen in love with a little boy in Haiti. Mike is not so sure he wants us to get on the international adoption roller coaster. Seriously, adopting internationally is scary. Countries make their own rules/laws and can change them weekly. However, the mama part of me sees this baby & knows he needs a home. He is 2 months older than Nathan, and about as cute! The cost to adopt from Haiti is approximately $13,000 - $18,000, including travel. So, if you know of a pile of money somewhere, let us know. hahaha no seriously. ;)

6 Silly Things about me

My friend Brea tagged me because she loves my son. I can't blame her, I mean come on, who wouldn't love him?? So, I am playing along. Hopefully I can some up with something good.

1. Brea, I too have my pee issues. I usually wait to go until I am having to shuffle across the room to the bathroom. Fortunately, I've not birthed any children, so I rarely need depends. lol

2. I am petrified of creepy crawlies. Why I moved to Tennessee, land of bugs, is beyond me!! ha

3. I have never used a permanent hair color. I've used wash out color a couple of times, but that's about it. Oh, one time in high school, I wanted to color my hair to brown. I got a temporary color & did it myself. It turned orange!!

4. I cannot whistle....

5. I can eat an entire jar of dill pickles in one sitting. As a teenager, I used to do this quite frequently. Then an ER doc told that it was messing with my heart. Sadly, I'm now lucky to eat just one delicious pickle.

6. I'm a grammar geek! I love grammar, and even love to diagram sentences. I haven't done it in years, but still... =)
