Small Sewing

Lately I seem to be struggling to find time to sew. Funny, because I thought that without TV I would have TONS of time. I dunno.. .

I however, find some fun fabric on sale last week. I've been wanting a new couch, and since that's out of the question, I settled on new pillows. I've recently seen some tutorials on completely recovering your couch, so that may be in the future.

Anyhow, yesterday I took about 30 minutes for sewing and made this pillow. I decided to try "envelope cover" and am not sure if I like it or not. I wanted to use the form from the current pillow and the ability to wash the cover. Not having zippers on hand, I thought this to be the best way. I ended up putting a small piece of velcro, because it kept pouting open.

I might get a new pillow form, see how rumply this one is?

I'll be making another one today. (so sad that I'm only making one pillow a day.)

I haven't gotten my sewing mojo back yet either. I finally worked on something yesterday and almost got it done. I've got 3 orders I've got to get done this week.

New couch...don't get one until your son is at least 5!!!! My kids would destroy a new couch.

Not Bad!!! I've seen those 'envelope pillows' where you can add a button onto them and you close it via button. They're really cute. Maybe look at Bed Bath & Beyond for a couch cover to match.
