We took the plunge and canceled our TV service.
This isn't the first time we've done this, and no it's not because we can't afford it. We did it back in 2000 and didn't have tv until 2 years ago. We signed a stupid 2 year contract and for the last year, we couldn't wait to get rid of it!
Commercials are trash, even on the "family friendly" shows. I found myself sitting in front of the stupid box way too much. We don't let Nathan watch tv anyhow, so why have it??
It's been off for about a week, and I will admit, I'm going through a detox of sorts. I find myself walking to the living room ready to turn on background noise. Instead I turn on the radio or put in a cd. Oh how I much prefer a good worship cd.
We do watch a good movie in the evening, and I'm sure we'll both start reading more again.
As an added benefit, we have an extra $60 a month in the bank. That will be going to the adoption loans. WooHoo!!

we just have rabbit ears, get the basic channels and its great. so if we do not watch tv we do not feel guilty about the bill. I would rather have the internet anyways. and here it is either or. just think of how much time you can craft.
That's great! Wish we could do that but hubby won't give up his sports!
I wish I could go tv-less. My husband refuses, he is so attached to football and political news, bleh! I only need the internet lol
