I don't know if I've mentioned it much on this blog, but I love books. Our walk-in closet is taken over by my book collection. I have decided that spending money on books is not the wisest use of my funds. So, today we ventured out to the library and got a card.
I love the library! (warning, here comes the geek in me) So many books, so much to explore, learn and discover. I see the shelves and shelves of books, and my mind races. People were at the computers, feverishly typing papers and researching on the internet. It felt good to be there for leisure and not have the pressures of term papers and finals.
Our first stop was the Children's Library. I do hope that Nathan will spend many many many hours in this room. It's huge! The entire basement of the library. They have a big room just for story time. There are computers, chairs, tables, puzzles and of course ... lots of books. I started out putting Nathan in the big empty room with a puzzle. Then some kids & other moms came in, so I pulled him over with me. Didn't think they wanted a toddler in their face. He helped me pick out a few books.
Then we went upstairs & got a couple of books for me.
Just now, I was looking through a sewing book from 1977. Have you ever noticed the smell of old paper? As weird as this sounds, I love it! It seems so nostalgic to me. It reminds me of the first day of school, when the air was still stale in the old modular buildings.
I'm glad we got a library card.

Lol, you're not a geek at all! I also enjoy roaming around in the library, especially the one downtown. It's the biggest one with seven floors. I can spend hours there....I'm glad you had fun!

The library is one of my favorite places on earth!!And I love checking out new libraries in other cities, too.
A while back I posted about introducing my grandkids to library...you can read it here if you're interested.

There's no smell like the smell of old books. I love used bookstores, too!
