Since becoming more active in the crafting community, I am finding SO many moms with side businesses. These are hardworking women, who do what they do well!! I would much rather support their business than Wal-Mart or China.
Think about buying something, where you can put a face to where it came from. Knowing that your loved ones won't be part of some recall. You won't all be dressing just like your neighbor. You won't be supporting millionaires who get rich from sweat shops.
Also, you get to avoid the CRAZY mall scene at Christmas.
One of the best places to find lots of handmade items is etsy.
I will do my best this Christmas, to either make gifts myself or buy handmade.
