Gone in a blink

Back in October the house behind us burned overnight. Fortunately no one was hurt, other than burns on the man's arm.

They finally got to tearing it down this week. I watched as walls that were meant to protect came tumbling down like some of Nathan's building blocks. I wanted to cry. It did get me thinking though, and put some thing into perspective.

Everything in this world will pass away. What we think is there to protect us won't last. Our home, our bank account, that great job ~ or not so great job, could be gone overnight. Even the people we love, none of us are promised the next breath.

I am glad that in times like these, I know my safety and protection rests safely in the One who will be here tomorrow.
