Words & standing

This has been an exciting month around here for us.

Nathan is purposely saying words now. It's been a while since he first said mama & bye. Since then he has been jabbering up a storm. Now he is purposely saying words.

In the last week he has said

da ~ dad

mama, yeah, the only clear word

do ~ dog

ca ~ cat

foof ~ woof

bt ~ butt (one of his nicknames from daddy is baby butt)

he makes a sneezing sound went I sneeze

this next one, I need to explain. We found out by accident that if we howl, we can get Rhone to howl. It's so funny the way he howls & Nathan seems to love it! So, whenever I howl Nathan does as well now. Too cute!!

The other thing he has been doing lately is standing on his own. He's been doing it for a little while now, but only when he is distracted & doesn't know he let go. This week though, he has known that he let go & keep playing with the toy. Or like he did last night, he wanted to dance. OH! that reminds me..

His "dance" is hilarious!! I have seen babies do the baby dance, where they bend their knees and move to the music. Not my son... nope. He puts both his hand in the air, in the form of fists and shakes them. It doesn't matter what he is doing, if he hears music he likes, he's got to shake it!

I was trying to figure out what would make him do this. It just seemed odd to me. I mean, it almost looks like air drumming. I was beginning to think that I had a child prodigy on my hands. I mean, should I enroll him in music class, or what?? Then, one night, music came on & Mike started doing his air drumming! AH-HA! Nathan has watched Daddy do this all the time! So, Mike has given his son the "drummer's disease".

I have some picture updates to do, so be watching for those.
