Life pre-kids

Recently on an adoption forum I frequent, the question was posed - "What do you miss about your life pre-kids".

Most of the moms, including myself, could come up with a list of a few things.

Things like: sleeping in, eating with hubby, eating at all, going out of the house on the spur of moment... etc etc.

This morning Nathan was up EARLY, we're talking 5 am. Usually he takes his bottle and goes back to sleep. Not this morning. To be fair, Mike did get up with him and let me sleep until 6:30. My first thought? Doesn't Nathan know it's SATURDAY?! haha! yeah right!

Then as I'm having my coffee and fresh zucchini bread (yummy!!) I realized, I wouldn't trade this for all the 10 am Saturday's in the world!!

Being a mom is hard work, alot harder than I prepared mysef for. My dear friend Tia and I have talked about how being a parent is quite possibly the most selfless thing you can do in the world. In the past 6 months I have been drooled on, kicked, pinched, had my ears boxed, thrown up on, peed on, pooped on and had nearly no sleep.

However, at the end of the day, I feel so fulfilled. Yep, it may be selfless, but like anything worthwile I wouldn't love it if I didn't have to work for it.
